I recently traveled to Africa where I had the opportunity to do direct outreach – HIV education – in the homes of the Kenyan people we served. This outreach mirrors the campaign related work that our Incite programs tackle day in and day out.
It struck me that our model and mantra – Engage People, Inspire Belief, Incite Action – is spot on!
The model of connecting with people where they are, influencing them to think differently and encouraging them to take the first step, is used in direct, in-home outreach tackling public health concerns around the globe as effectively as it is here in the States for voter registration, recycling programs and school attendance campaigns.
Whether it’s an integrated campaign using targeted media brands, a grassroots event in our community, or a radio personality championing a message – the recipe we have for Incite campaigns works. The reason it works – and what resonated with me in Africa – is that it is about connecting people to ideas and resources that matter.
If we keep this at the heart of what we do, day in and day out, we will be sure to design effective campaigns, deliver results for our clients, mobilize our communities – and inspire people to act!
